Interests: Nupur loves adventure, travel, experiencing all kinds of cuisines (really enjoys meat), cooking, reading, dancing, and remains involved in projects where she can give back to the community through various organizations and outreach programs. She cherishes her time with family and friends. Nupur respects and enjoys keeping fit and works on eating healthy.
Hobbies: Nupur enjoys stage performances and has acted in many plays over the past few years. Her 12 years in classical dance training (Kathak) have brought out in her a beautiful dancer. Tampering with computers, Nupur excels in designing websites and working on all sorts of hardware and software at the office. She has excellent graphic design skills.
Nupur enjoys socializing and parties but lights up when she has to plan an event for someone be it prom for a high school, or a friend’s wedding, a birthday, or her parents’ anniversary party; she can do it all. Nupur is not afraid of anything. She took a backpacking trip to India all by herself for a period of three months, during which time she travelled to and explored 30 cities. She has been taking on adventure sports such as sky diving, bungee jumping and zip lining.
Other experiences: Nupur is a people’s person. She enjoys interacting with people. In high school she was a successful Peer College Counselor, in college she worked as a resident advisor (RA) in her dorms and was promoted very quickly to the position of a Community Advisor (overseeing all of the RA s of her building). She has successfully undertaken the implementation of many stage show productions at a local school. She is always enthusiastic in working on a program where charity is involved. Although a Hindu by birth, Nupur is not ritualistic and rigid, rather she is a spiritual being who enjoys the cultural celebrations of India as well as America.
Family: Nupur’s nuclear family lives in Los Angeles and includes her father, mother and younger sibling Tushar. Her extended maternal family lives in North America. (San Francisco, Chicago, Toronto) Part of her extended paternal family lives in India, some of them live in San Francisco and others in Australia. Her father, Gautam, runs a successful CPA firm in Los Angeles. Her mother, Vandana, works as a Science teacher in a local high school for the past 22 years. Tushar has completed a degree in computer science, and is interested in a career in game design. Tushar has also designed a strategy board game which is in the process of being marketed. The family values education to a great degree.
