Akshata's paternal grandfather is from Service background and was an Indian Army Officer (recently departed) & grandmother owns a Rose Farm & settled in Pune. The maternal grandfather retired from Indian Railways and settled in Mumbai. Maternal grandmother recently departed.

Akshata's father is an Indian Army Officer serving in Kolkata as a Major General. He is a graduate of the National Defence Academy and has done his B.Tech, M.Tech (IIT Madras), Master of Management Studies and M.Phil. Mother is B.A, M.A (Clinical Psychology), B.Ed & and Entrepreneur. AKshata has one younger sibling & her sister is studying in Class XII in Modern School, Barakhamba Road Delhi.
