one brother, and my uncle lives in USA, while my maternal uncle (mama ji
is in CANADA They both have established successful businesses there and ar
well-settled. My grandfather servedas a Colonel in the army, and after fulfillin
his duties with dedication, he spent some time farming. Later, to secure a
better future for his children, he sold his land and ancestral house in th
village and moved to Chandigarh. All of this happened before I was born,
and my grandmother shared these stories with me. My mother also comes
from a respectable family and is a government professor. Her belief is tha
we should never hurt anyone’s feelings, always strive to make others
happy, and provide food to the hungry. She emphasizes that by performing
such good deeds, we can stay away from many difficulties in life. According
to her, "If we help someone during theirtough times, God will surely help us during ours." I was born in Sohana, Sector 77, Mohali, and it was the happiest
day for my family. The reason behind this joy was that I was the only daughter in
our entire family. Both my uncles (paternal) had two sons each, but neither of
them had a daughter. Being the first child of my parents, my arrival brought
immense happiness to the entire family. Among everyone, my grandfather was
the happiest, as he had always wished for a daughter but only had sons. This made
my birth even more special for him.On Tuesday, June 27, 1995, around noon
my mother started experiencing labor pains. My father and grandfather immediate
took her to the hospital, while my grandmother stayed home and informed my
maternal uncle. My maternal uncle, along with my aunt, came directly to the hospital.
At 9 PM, my mother gave birth to me, and everyone in the family was overjoye
I was the only daughter in both my father's and mother's families, which made my
arrival even more special. In celebration of my birth, my maternal uncle and patern
uncle organized a grand party and arranged for an *Akhand Path Sahib* at home
My father received many gifts from friends and relatives. To mark the occasion
further, my father donated food to an orphanage and an old age home as an act
of gratitude and blessings.I was very close to my grandfather. Five years after my
birth, my younger brother was born.
