TL; DR: Peaceful music, disruptive science and an embarrassingly tall stack of rough paper! (and coffee, of course). That's me!

I am your average silicon valley engineer who set out from home on a mission "to make the world a better place" and now spends his weekdays stuck in meetings, trying to achieve better profits for corporate America! He texts his mom in between meetings and sometimes forgets to return her calls only to feel terrible afterwards.

On weekends though, I enjoy almost any activity that is skill-based, non-addictive and non-life-threatening (for the most part!). From gardening to bouldering, I rarely decline new experiences. I'm new to America, so I like to explore but I don't obsess over it.

I like to stay up-to-date with the latest happenings and typically develop strong opinions on most things I read. However, I hold my views loosely and am always open to hearing out even the most vitriolic (yeah VITRIOLIC because Dad has a PhD in chemistry ?) criticisms of my positions.

I hold the fundamental principles of scientific reasonability and democratic dialogues close to my heart and generally try to form my values around them. Like most people in my family, I keep spiritualism separate from religion and like to practice both discreetly.

Finally, the mandatory bit - WORK! Even though I joke about it all the time, my work is perhaps my life's most significant (and fulfilling) aspect. I specialize in AI - Computer Vision. I absolutely love going in to work every day to figure out how to make a computer "see" things as humans do! I am also working on Interpretable and Fast Deep Learning - topics I can keep yapping about for days.

VISA status:
I am currently on an F1-OPT work visa. This work permit is not renewable and will expire in February 2026. My employer has been (and will keep) applying for an H1-B visa on my behalf but the H1-B visa is lottery-based. In case my name does not get picked in the H1-B lottery before my current visa expires, I can no longer work in the US under my current status.
