I come from a middle-class Bengali Brahmin family (ancestral- Barisal, East Bengal) and was brought up in Goa amidst a liberal cosmopolitan culture. I am a passionate outdoor sportsman (especially in Lawn tennis and cricket) and yet having strong bonding with books, music, film, and a serious critique. However, I have not much interest in the material world like in food, clothes, mobiles, shoes, shopping, partying, etc. I believe in a simple lifestyle, but would admire any other lifestyle of the would-be partner.

I am the only child of my parents

My father with two doctoral degrees is a retired Professor and Chief Scientist with a reputed oceanographic institute, and a former Director in Mauritius. My mother is a Law and Science graduate and a home maker.
