I am a person with a wide range of interests and a perpetual desire to learn which is palpable from my educational and professional journey thus far. I have worked in the private sector, non-profits as well as universities in markedly different functional capacities. Based on those experiences, I have decided to pursue a career in research, probably in academia but possibly in the tech industry. I feel that this choice affords me to have individual recognition, work-life balance, adequate finances, and a great deal of flexibility.
My work is certainly not all that defines me. Intentionally in no particular order: I write poetry, cook dishes, act in plays, sing, write for an entertainment website, learn new languages, read history, follow financial markets, play strategic computer games, watch movies, and work out. Food is a great passion of mine and I like to eat a variety of cuisines from across the world that I also occasionally cook. I am rather keen on maintaining a high level of physical and mental fitness as well. I have learnt intermediate Mandarin Chinese but have also learnt others to lesser levels. I also write articles for Cornell University and for a centrist policy thinktank.

My family has liberal values that they have instilled in me. My father retired as a Colonel from the Indian Army and my mother has taken voluntary retirement from the State Bank of India. I have a younger sister who is a doctor. We all share the likings of curiosity, independence, and adventurousness.
