I moved to the United States just over four years ago, after growing up in India. Although I have a unique name, I prefer to go by Abhi. Having completed my internal medicine residency in Baltimore, MD, I’m now on an H1B visa and pursuing a critical care fellowship in Syracuse, New York. My colleagues describe me as easygoing, grounded, and empathetic. I’m known for being enjoyable to be around, with a good balance between extroversion and introversion, as well as strong conversational and list-making skills. Outside of work, I value cultural traditions and observe all Hindu holidays. I find peace in the outdoors, especially through hiking and exploring new places. Despite the demands of my field, I remain energetic and always eager for social gatherings or outings. I also enjoy playing volleyball and soccer.
We are a well-educated nuclear family that values education, cultural principles, and broad-mindedness. I am an Electrical Engineer with a background in law, and my spouse holds a diploma in pharmacy, a science degree, and has completed MLT (Medical Laboratory Technology). Our younger son recently earned his computer science engineering degree in Ahmedabad, India, and is currently working with IT Company in Halifax after finishing a master's degree in computer applications at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada.
